On 15 November 2014, the author Sara Crowe posted a quick query on a writers' forum I belong to. 'If you could shrug off the responsibilities of family, work, paying the mortgage, and go on one great adventure,' she said, 'what would you do?'
Among a barrage of replies, I commented 'I seem to lack the tourism gene, so I wouldn't want to go and see anything - I think just spend a year in a French seaside town with so many restaurants I could visit a new one every night.' And, unwittingly, Pontage Coranarien sur Mer was born.
It quickly struck me that this would be a boring exercise alone, so I needed a series of guests to join me in the various and varied restaurants this unique French seaside town could offer.
Who is joining me next? I have no idea yet. And that's part of the fun.
